All applicants must pass the entrance exam within two (2) attempts. There must be a minimum of 30 days between tests and the test(s) must have been taken within two (2) years of the admission cycle
(September 1, 2025 – June 1, 2027).

  1. Download the Application – complete and mail it with all the required documents (essay, resume, high school/college transcripts, birth certificate, three [3] references, driver’s license, health insurance card, CPR (if available)
  2. You must have a social security number
  3. Pass the entrance exam within the guidelines (see instructions below)
  4. All transcripts must be an original sent to Assabet PNP by the source
  5. If you went to high school (and college) outside of the USA please contact CED at 617-338-7171 to have an equivalency review of grades completed and forward to Assabet Practical Nursing Program
  6. No credits may be transferred to the program and CNA is not required
  7. Upon receipt of all application documents and passing NLN-NEX scores, you will be contacted for an interview
  8. All interviewees files will be periodically reviewed by the Admission Committee
  9. You will receive a letter in the mail with admission results

Assabet PNP will only accept the National League for Nursing Nurse Entrance Exam (NLN – NEX).

The proper entrance exam name is “NEX” at www.nln.org

2. Select and Purchase your NLN-NEX with Proctor360 Exam

Purchase the NLN-NEX with Proctor360 Exam.

3. Schedule the date/time for your VIRTUAL Exam

4. System Check

Prior to your test, you will need to verify that your computer meets the requirements. Use the link provided in step 1 of your confirmation e-mail to connect to a system check.

During the system check you will be provided with the system requirements. 

Go through each step to verify that your microphone, speakers, and webcam are working properly.

After the system check is complete, you’ll be provided an e-mail from noreply@proctor360exams.com with instructions to connect to your test at your scheduled time.

6. Testing Day

  • Make sure that you are in a secure testing area with no other people around and that your testing space is clear of any additional items or materials.

  • Prior to connecting for your test, please be sure to close any additional tabs or programs on your computer.

  • Access the link provided by noreply@proctor360exams.com at the time of your exam. 

  • During Check-in you will be required to submit a face photo, an ID photo, and perform a 360 degree sweep of your testing environment, showing your testing surface and room in which you are taking the exam. 

7. Meet Benchmarks

The NLN-NEX scores must meet the benchmarks of Verbal 58% and Math 45%, (Science does not have a minimum requirement), OR a composite score of 115 or greater for additional points.
